Native to southern Italy, this wine is a harmony of fruit, acid & tannins with great aging potential. Ripe cherry & mint notes followed by hints of earthy clay. Great now, age worthy
Winemaker Notes
The grapes were hand harvested from Yavapai College Vineyard in the fall of 2021. Destemmed and crushed to open-top bins for fermentation with specially selected yeast. Punched down daily and pressed at dryness. Induced Malolactic fermentation. Aged 22 months in 25% new French oak and 75% Neutral oak barrels. Racked and filtered prior to bottling in July 2023.
